I forgot my jammies and through charitable donations I was given a pair of large men’s boxer shorts, and an Extra large Bum T-shirt. I’m sure the smiles and “Hola”(s) were genuine when the staff saw me at 5 am tripping to the hotel lobby with my Timmies Insulated Mug and my baggy night attire, my runners, and my bed head.

Out for a walk on the beach and a little peak into the jungle on the edges of the property. It really is like Gilligan's Island.

On day 5, we ended up staying and playing at the resort. We were going to take the collectivo (the local bus system) to Xel Ha and I was going to swim with the dolphins. Just by chance we asked about it at the desk and were told that I wouldn’t get in today for sure as it was full, but that there were spots for Friday at noon. I said yes.

Later on the other side of the bay the snorkelling proved interesting in a different sort of way. The surf was rougher and the sand was stirred up in it so the visibility was diminished, but it was more like what I am used to anyway. Well the rougher water made more provided for a different bounty of aquatic life. I saw one of those fish that lays flat on the bottom. It blends in so well that you can hardly see it in the picture I took. To my eyes it was kind of white with speckles of greens and blues. It almost looked like lace.  Then I saw a sea urchin, the spiny kind. I have a picture of it too.

Floating.

So it was a great day to stay at the hotel. There was the snorkelling and swimming. There was so much to see and do. I got the chance to snorkel under the pier and see hundreds of fish. I swam through them and they all followed me. I turned around and they were all facing me, I swam into them and they all turned around and followed me back. It was wild.
